St. Augustine is an extremely adaptable grass. Some great characteristics of St. Augustine are the Emerald green color and finer texture, semi-shade tolerance, excellent resistance to cold and frost, exhibits heat and drought tolerance, disease resistance, and wear tolerant. It is a thicker blade than our other varieties Our St. Augustine generally comes on a gumbo soil, which is slightly sandy but mostly consists of clay.
Once the grass has taken root, you will want to keep the blades mowed at 2-4 inches in height. During the fall and winter you will mow less to encourage deeper root growth. We sell our St. Augustine by the piece and by the pallet. Each pallet covers 450 square feet and each piece is about 16 inches by 24 inches.
